The academic year at LTH is divided into two semesters of approximately 20 weeks each. For most educational programmes, each semester is divided into two study periods. Please note that a course might run over two study periods.
For students at the School of Architecture and the School of Industrial Design, the semester is not divided into study periods.
Total time span of the semester: AUGUST 31 - JANUARY 17
Study period 1: August 31 - October 20
Exams: October 23-30
Study period 2: November 2 - December 18
Christmas holidays: December 19 - January 1
Exams: January 4-5, January 8-16 (public holiday on 6 January—Three Kings Day)
Total time span of the semester: JANUARY 18 - JUNE 6
Study period 3: January 18 - March 10
Exams: March 15-20
Study period 4, part 1: March 22-31 (Easter holiday April 2-5)
Study period 4, part 2: April 19 - May 28 (public holiday on May 13 - Ascension Day, and on 1 May - Labour Day)
Re exams: April 6-17
Exams: May 31 - June 5 (public holiday on June 6 - National Day of Sweden)
They might not follow LTHs academic year.
