Lund University and LTH have a zero tolerance approach to discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment and victimisation. Diversity, equal opportunities and gender equality among students contribute to a positive work environment and high quality in all activities.
LTH’s responsibility and work for equal opportunities
The Dean of LTH, Faculty of Engineering, is responsible for compliance with gender equality, equal opportunities and diversity measures. The Subject Area Managers and Heads of Department have the operational responsibility for an environment free from harassment and discrimination.
The Student Welfare Council is a preparatory body for the Management Group for Undergraduate Education. The council works proactively to ensure that all students studying at the faculty of Engineering feel included and have the same rights, obligations and opportunities in their studies.
As part of this systematic work, LTH conducts annual study environment safety inspections within the programme managements to:
- Identify factors and potential risks that affect students’ study environment before they lead to ill health.
- Detect and analyse any risks of discrimination or retaliation.
- Detect obstacles to equal rights and opportunities within the organisation.

Report study-related injury or ill health
If you experience study-related ill health, a near-accident, accident, occupational illness, or a commuting accident related to your studies, you must report it. You do this by registering the incident in the university’s reporting system: the IA system.
