Salary for PhD students at LTH
A special salary-setting system applies to doctoral students. When employed as a PhD student you are normally assigned the entry salary established by LTH. Your salary is then increased in stages as you complete the various levels in the research studies programme, according to progression established by LTH. The salary is also increased by a standard amount that is the same for all PhD students and is set as part of the yearly salary review process.
The PhD student is responsible for completing the application for increased salary and for sending it to the salary department.
The salary increases at LTH as follows:
- 60 credits – 1100 SEK
- 120 credits – 1100 SEK
- 180 credits – 600 SEK
- Degree achieved – 1500 SEK (paid at the next month-end after decision is taken about the degree having been achieved)
