Examination on Campus – how does it work?

What should you think about before and during your exam?

During your exam

  1. No academic quarter - be on time.
  2. You can be a maximum of one hour late, after the exam has started. You will then have less writing time which will not be compensated.
  3. Only those who have registered are guaranteed a place to write. The invigilators have the right to decide where you sit.
  4. Please have your ID and ballpoint pen with you.
  5. At your desk you may have:
    • writing and drawing utensils
    • writing paper provided by the clerks
    • food and beverages
    • permitted aids as indicated on the examination
You may not have electronic equipment, bags or outerwear at your desk.
  6. Once the exam has started, the invigilator will carry out an ID check and issue an anonymous assessment code. You will write your code on the cover sheet and each individual exam paper.
  7. Also write your personal identifier (see below) on the cover sheet and each individual exam paper.
  8. When you hand in your answers, place them in the pre-filled cover; no answers may be written on the cover. The assignments must be arranged in numerical order. Even if you do not solve any problem, you are obliged to hand in the cover.

Practical information - important!

  1. While writing is in progress, any exchange of information with other students is prohibited.
  2. If you leave your seat temporarily, you must cover the papers you have written on.
  3. Toilet visits are carried out according to the instructions of the invigilator.
  4. You may not leave the room until at least one hour after the start of the exam.

What is an anonymised assessment code?

Your anonymous assessment code will be handed out by the invigilator. You write your anonymous code and your personal identifier on each submitted paper + cover paper. The purpose is that your exam will be marked anonymously (introduced in 2015 at LTH).

What is a personal identifyer?

In order to ensure that your exam can be linked to you, and in case something goes wrong with the anonymous assessment code, you must write a so-called personal identifier on all submitted papers in addition to the anonymous assessment code itself.

The personal identifier is a small phrase, a code or a short sentence that you make up yourself. It can be anything, but should not be anything that could reveal your identity. If you wish, you can use the same personal identifier on all papers in an exam period. You should not tell it to anyone.

Which exams are covered by anonymous assessment code and personal identifier?

Only written room exams (both regular and re-exams) are subject to anonymisation and mandatory registration.

Anonymity does not apply to home exams, oral exams, quizzes or assignments. The system can be used for this as well, but in this case it will be decided at course level and the course teacher will inform about it.
